- In recent months/years, there does seem to be somewhat of a hostility and contempt toward singles. Yes, I'm sure it is very, very tough on singles to survive socially in this cult. The way everything is geared-up for couples and families. -- Beth SarimOne of the many reasons I could no longer deal with the JW social structure. You are very kind, The Rebel, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. At a very difficult time for me, you have lifted my spirits. A few kind people on the forum have expressed appreciation for what I do.
Blessings and peace, dear friend.

Quality of newer membership
by Lostandfound inon a previous post mamacita29 pointed up the low quality of new jw converts.. is the quality falling even more as the society use lower than low meeting, talks, broadcasts etc.. when i was active initially the organisation and standards seemed totally different today.
i have seen hard working intelligent elders fall by death or exhaustion.
the younger generation that came along never really grasped responsibility hence shortage of good elders, never mind the watered down to almost nothing quality of meetings.

Thank you, prologos, for answering my question so thoroughly! What an experience regarding what you paid for a single loaf of bread. I eat lots of bread and I never waste a bit.
Gratefully,

Why not slices of bread, rather than spoil those half loaves? Additionally, he states that the bread is pure, but doesn't adding "leaven" to bread dough make it rise? So, wouldn't the bread he uses be symbolically tainted?
Thoughts?

An inguinal hernia.
by Fisherman inthere are a couple of schools of thought on this.
some doctors recommend postponing surgery others recommend laparascopic surgery, etc.
how about local anesthesia, complications during and after surgery and other concerns.

Greetings, once again, Fisherman:
- Everything considered, is it best to wait and postpone surgery as long as possible or dod it asap? What is the best choice?
Recalling both my personal experience and my post-repair online research, I suggest that you seek medical advice and follow through. There is the risk of strangulation of the intestine and consequent complications. Truly, there are elective procedures and emergency procedures. I have had both;
you will know when delay is dangerous. - BE SAFE!

Well-designed board games have been shown to be quite helpful in teaching, especially for kids, because the learning takes place as a side consequence of the actual playing, which is mainly for fun. This Jehovah's Witnesses board game, called the House to House Board Game, is fun, family oriented, and geared toward the interactive learning of Bible Scriptures. It encourages the family to join in an activity to promote bonding while helping them better understand God's Word.

You're welcome, Fisherman.
I am unable to answer that question other than what was done for me. Due to my then respiratory illness, they went for spinal rather than local anesthesia. I regretted that later because it messed up my plumbing for days afterwards. As I understood my situation, however, there was no choice in the matter.
Sorry I'm not sufficiently schooled in this. It was so long ago. Now, I do research before I say "yes" to anything medical. That's another entire chapter of my life.
Take care.

Greetings, Fisherman:
Between 12 and 15 years ago, I had both right and left hernia repairs. Absolutely necessary. A couple years ago, I began suffering extreme abdominal pain on the left side. It was diagnosed as nerve entrapment, i.e., a nerve had become entrapped in the mesh.
I was told that if I couldn't live with the intermittent pain, I could have a redo. That, of itself, poses difficulties. There's always risk. The pain has become so rare now that I am just "living with it."
Hope it goes well for the person in question. BTW, I'm sure there have been strides made in surgical procedure since my adventures (they were done a couple years apart).
Best regards.
